1958年にアメリカで発明され、1960年代にはオリンピックの競技場やスタジアム、駅の待合室など公共空間に数多く導入された新素材がFRP（繊維強化プラスチック）。
1960年代にFRP製の商品に力を注いでいたコトブキが日本を代表するインテリアデザイナー剣持勇とコラボレーションしたビンテージチェア。
日本でもオリンピックを機に多くの公共空間へ丈夫で安価に大量生産を可能としました。今でも昔の名残でバス停や駅などで使われているのも時々目にします。
FRPチェアではイームずのシェルチェアが有名ですが、日本人の体型に合うように少し小ぶりなフォルムい合せているのが特徴的です。ハの字型スチールレッグがすっきりとした見た目で圧迫感を抑えてくれます。貴重な１脚として長くお使い頂けましたらと思います♪
